Question: In the book of Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26-31 God created man (male and female) and gave them dominion over the animals and herbs and fruit for nourishment, and then he rested and that was the sixth day. This was all prior to the creation of Adam. Are we to believe that God created people prior to Adam and Eve and that there were people here before them?Answer: No, we don't believe there were people before Adam and Eve. They were the first parents of the human race.
Genesis chaper 1 tells the general story of creation in a short form. Genesis chapter 2 is a re-telling of the creation of man (Adam and Eve) giving a more detailed account.
