~ A place to find answers to gnawing spiritual questions ~

Question: Why would God put people in the middle of His war with Satan? If He loves us so much, why would He put us in the middle?

Answer: There are three things to look at:

1.) God
2.) People
3.) Satan

1.) God is love. Such a simple phrase that has echoed throughout the history of time, yet it's true depth has been known by so few. What is love? The greatest act of love ever known to mankind was that of God, the Father, sending His one and only Son, to be the ultimate sacrifice for the payment of sin. Was it easy for Him? NO. Just because He is God does not mean that He did not feel the hurt and such sorrow of losing His Son.

God has emotions just as we do, for we were created in His image. Jesus himself could have questioned His Father's decision, but He knew that a price had to be paid; not only for the sins that had been committed in the past where as believers would offer up blood sacrifices of lambs or other chosen animals symbolizing their sacrifice unto God.

When the children of Israel were in Egypt and the tenth plague had come, that of the death angel, they were required to put blood of the sacrifices on the doorpost of each place they were dwelling. When the death angel swept through the city, those who had the blood applied to their door were not touched by it and their lives were spared. Even in the days of old it was prophesied after the first sin in the Garden of Eden was committed, that a Savior would come to take away the sins of the world. His death, burial, and resurrection offered a pardon for sin for all time: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE.. If His blood is applied to the door of our hearts, Satan cannot touch us.

Love involves so many things. Our parents love us so much, yet they have to punish us for wrong doing and lead us in the right path. Because we feel hurt by their choice of correction, does not mean that they don't love us. They are doing what is best for us even though we may not understand it at that time. Love hurts sometimes.

2.) God created human beings for a means of fellowship. There is no doubt that God and Adam carried on conversations and enjoyed each others company. God did not want Adam to be alone, so He created Eve. Therefore, they could pro-create and produce what would seem to be the 'perfect society.'

3.) However, we have the fall of Satan due to him wanting to be equal and above God. He was one of the highest ranking angels of cherubim's and seraphims. That is why he is so powerful today, but not as powerful as God. He would like to make everyone think that he is in control and that he calls the shots, but he can only do what God allows. When Satan fell, he took a few others with him. He established his own kingdom and to this day he has made it his #1 effort to drag everyone down with him.

Sin entered the world through the disobedience of Eve eating of the tree that was forbidden to them. Sure, she was tempted and enticed by the Serpent, but the ultimate decision was hers, to eat, or not to eat. Only in a split second after her teeth skimmed the surface of the peel did the future of the human race take a 360 degree spin and spiral downward. I'm sure that the enemy of our soul thought he was the master of the universe that day and had himself a time. But little did he know that God had a plan. God always has a plan. He could have let us all plunge into hell the first time we ever messed up in our lives. And for most of us, we wouldn't have lived very long. Instead He chose to offer us life, eternal life.

To some, it seems cruel to allow people to go to hell, but on the other hand, He offers us another alternative in which the benefits are 100 per cent. Yet so many look at Him as the enemy instead of Satan, the very one who began his regime and hates all of humankind.

Free-will. God has a plan for each of our lives, but it is up to us which path we will follow. Sometimes, we start out on the wrong foot but God is compassionate and merciful and is always there, waiting with an outstretched hand if we will only reach out to Him. He loves us so much and wants to spend eternity with us. If we could only see through His eyes.
