~ A place to find answers to gnawing spiritual questions ~
Question: Does manic depressive syndrome and bipolar have any connection to being demon possessed? I have met a young girl who has these, but I feel the ugly presence of evil when I am talking to her. She sees the devil and hears his voice and came to me for help, what should I do?Answer: Your concern is quite understandable, and you really ought to try to get your friend to visit with a godly pastor. It is not uncommon for an individual who has been "diagnosed" as being a manic-depressive to use this as a means of hiding some secret sin which they do not want exposed. It can be a tool that tends to lead the person into a state of denial. However, there will be no help until the sin problem is dealt with. I do not doubt that you feel the presence of evil in trying to talk to her. Clearly, Satan would not want this girl to confess her sins and be made right before a holy God.
Simply carrying the "title" of a manic-depressive and bipolar does not necessitate demon possession. However, depending upon what this young lady has been exposed to and involved in, she may very well have opened herself up to demonic activity. This is where a discerning man of God can help. Prayerful counsel with a Spirit filled counselor is important to see this girl delivered from whatever her problem may be.
