Question: Do you know which scripture specifically talks about the reason people get cancer?Answer:
I do not know of any specific Scripture that gives the cause of cancer. However, there was no sickness in the Garden of Eden before Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit. All sickness came after the fall of man.
Many times cancer can be traced to some kind of abuse of the body, such as improper eating habits. Other times, cancer may not be easily traced. The medical people can be of more help in these matters.
The good news is, that whatever disease and sickness one may have, there is hope in Jesus Christ. We read in the Gospels that Jesus healed all manner of sickness and diseases among the people (Matthew 4:23-24; 8:16-17; 9:35, etc.). Also, believers were given the power to heal in Jesus' Name (John 14:12; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14-15).
Some sicknesses are the result of specific sinful practices, but that is not always the case. Sickness is here because there is sin in the human race. Jesus came to redeem us from the curse that sin brings. (Compare Galatians 3:13-14 with Deuteronomy 28:15-23).
