Lesson 29 - The Crucifixion of Jesus. (Text Version)

Seven Sayings from the Cross (Cont'd.)

    5. "Woman, behold thy son...behold thy mother" (John 19:26-27).
    • How about the half brothers and half sisters (James, Joses, Jude, sisters)?
    • John must have had a home. He took her to his home.
    • Mary was one of the 120 in the Upper Room.
    • At what point did Joseph die?
    • Why did Jesus not perform a miracle and save him from dying?
    • Did Jesus work to support his mother and brothers and sisters?
    • Together as children, teens, twenties!

    6. "I thirst" (John 19:28).

      • Was his thirst physical or spiritual? Was it for the salvation of the lost - compassion?
      • Why vinegar and gall?

      7. "It is finished" (John 19:30).

      • What was finished? His suffering? Redemption? His earthly ministry?

    "Please tell me more."
