Lesson 12 - What About Death? Part I (Cont'd.)

			CONVERSATION WITH DEATH
			
Oh, what is this I cannot see,        Now death, Oh death, consider my age
With icy hands taking hold of me?     And do not take me at this state. 
Oh, I am death: none can excel;       My wealth is all at your command
I open the doors of Heaven and Hell.  If you will move your icy hands.

Oh, death, Oh death, how can it be    The old, the young, the rich, the poor
That I must come and go with thee?    Alike with me will have to go.
Oh, death, Oh death; How can it be?   No age, no wealth, no silver, nor gold-
I'm unprepared for eternity.          Nothing satisfies me but your soul

Yes, I have come to get your soul:    Now death, Oh death, please let me see,
To leave your body and leave it cold, If Christ has turned His back on me.
To drop the flesh off from the frame. When you were called and asked to bow
The earth and worms                   You wouldn't take heed;
    both have their claim.                it's too late now.

Now death, Oh death, if this be true, Oh death, Oh death, please give me time
Please give me time                   To fix my heart and 
    to reason with you.                   change my mind.
From time to time                     Your heart is fixed; 
    you've heard and saw,                 your heart is bound,
I'll close your eyes                  I have the shackles on you now.
    and lock your jaw.
    
I'll lock your jaw so you can't talk. Too late, too late, to all--Farewell;
I'll fix your feet so you can't walk. My doom is sealed; 
I'll close your eyes                      I'm summoned to HELL.
    so you can't see.                 As long as God in Heaven shall dwell
This very hour come and go with me.   My soul, my soul will burn in HELL.

Not One of Us Knows When We Will Die.
You Are Not Prepared To Go To Heaven When You Die If:

 1.If you have not been forgiven by God and cleansed from the
   guilt and defilement of sin by faith in Jesus Christ and His
   death for you. "For all have sinned and come short of the
   glory of God" (Romans 3:23). "The wages of sin is death; but
   the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"
   (Romans 6:23). 
 2.If you have not repented and turned from your sins and living a
   holy life. Jesus said, "I tell you, no: but, except you repent,
   you shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). "There shall in no
   wise enter into it (the New Jerusalem) any thing that defiles,
   neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but
   they which are written in the Lamb's book of life" (Revelation
   21:27). "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable,
   and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and
   idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which
   burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death"
   (Revelation 21:8). "Know you not that the unrighteous shall
   not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
   fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor
   abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor
   covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
   inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). 
 3.If you do not know God in a personal way. "He that says, I
   know Him, and does not keep his commandments is a liar,
   and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2:4). Jesus said, "And
   then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from
   me, you that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:23). "The Lord Jesus
   shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In
   flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and
   that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall
   be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of
   the Lord, and from the glory of his power" (2 Thessalonians
   1:7-9).
