Question: Is it Biblical for someone to "stand in the gap" for someone else who needs prayer? If so, where is it in the Bible?

Answer: Yes, standing in the gap for someone in prayer is certainly biblical. Theologians call it intercessory prayer!

Examples in the Word of God:

  1. Gen 18:25-33 Abraham interceding for Sodom.
  2. Exodus 32: 11-34 Moses interceding for sinful Israel
  3. Joel 2:17 Priests for Nation of Israel
  4. I Tim 2:1-3 Prayer for leaders.
  5. John 17 ; Heb 7:25 Jesus for Believers
