~ A place to find answers to gnawing spiritual questions ~
Question: What does the Bible mean, "The dead in Christ shall rise first and those that are left shall be caught up with them in the air?"Answer: "The dead in Christ" refers to those Christians who died prior to the coming of the Lord. "We which are alive and remain" refers to those Christians who are still alive at the coming of the Lord. Those who are dead will be resurrected with a new body. Those who are still alive will be "changed" so that they too have a new body. All (both the "dead in Christ" AND "we which are alive and remain") will then "be caught up together...to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (Read 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18).
