Question: What are your views on interracial marriages?

Answer: In my opinion, there is no Scripture which says this is sin. The Old Testament prohibition was of the intermarriage of the Israelites with other nations. This is because they were heathen (Deuteronomy 7:3). Nehemiah 13:23-28 provides an illustration of what sometimes results from mixed marriages with the children that are born. While it is not sin, all cross-cultural marriages will have unique stresses all their own. For this reason, I think it is an ill-advised choice. In nature, it is a fact that everything reproduces/mates with its own kind. Even the marriage of the very rich with the very poor or any wide disparity will result in additional stress factors in the relationship. The Old Testament prohibition of intermarriage with unbelievers (the heathen) is carried over into the New Testament (2 Corinthians 6:14).
