Ask a Minister

~ A place to find answers to gnawing spiritual questions ~

Question: I have been a born again Christian for 9 years. I serve the Lord faithfully, but I recently moved to another city where there are Christian churches but many have no life. It makes me uncomfortable going week after week to church and it seems to produce death rather than life. Compromise sets in because I allowed some of the doctrine of ease, which comes from this pulpit. Is it justifiable to refrain going to this church even though Paul says "forget not the assembly of God"?

Answer: I would advise you to look for another church, where there is life. Ask God to guide you. I would strongly advise you never to even think of staying out of church for any reason. There are many good churches around. Keep looking until you find a church like the one you left in the other city.
