Question: Please explain Hebrews 10:26. It states that "if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins". Does that mean that once we're saved, if we deliberately sin we can't be forgiven even if we repent and we're eternally lost? ("no longer remains...")Answer:
What this scripture is saying is that if we go back to sinning and try to also go back to the old way, "the law," then there is no more sacrifice under the law that will work. JESUS is the only way. Also, I believe this refers to 'apostasy' and not just backsliding. Apostasy is after you have known the way you then denounce the way. This means you totally reject Jesus. Therefore there is no redemption for that person.
