Lesson 25 - The Life and Ministry of Jesus - Part V (Cont'd.)(Text Version)

What Did He Teach? (Cont'd.)

    35. He taught that people who are like dogs and pigs will not value holy things but will turn on us and try to destroy us, therefore " Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine" (Matthew 7:6).

    36. He taught, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matthew 7:7-11). He taught that, like a father would only give good things to his children, God wants to give good things to them that ask him.

    37. He taught the "Golden Rule": "All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them" (Matthew 7:12).

    38. He taught that the straight and narrow way leads to life but that the wide gate an:' broad way leads to destruction and that many or most are on the broad road but few on the narrow way (Matthew 7:13-14).

    39. Jesus warned of false prophets, wolves in sheep's clothing, and like vines and trees they will bring forth their own types of fruits," Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them" (Matthew 7:15-20).

    40. He taught that, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:21-22).

    41. He taught how wise it is to hear his sayings and do them and how foolish it is to hear them and not do them - two houses and two different foundations (Matthew 7:24-27).

    42. He taught, "All these evil things come from within, and defile the man"... "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, jornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviouness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness" (Mark 7:18-23).

"There are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written (John 21:25).
